Chef and owner Tod Stark opened the first Bayou Cafe on Major Drive in Beaumont in 2009. The menu is built on seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, gumbo made from scratch, locally sourced produce, and tartar, cocktail and ibiza sauces made fresh every day. The banana pudding comes from a family recipe.
And the shrimp are always jumbo. As Tod puts it: “It's the only size we sell.”

The first Bayou Cafe opens on North Major Drive.
Our second kitchen opens on North Main Street.
The old Sonic on Highway 62 becomes Bayou Cafe Express, built for a quicker stop, with a brand new dining room.
